The Jabi lake park in Abuja is a scenic park located about 10 minutes away from the city centre by car. It is beside the Jabi lake which is a natural lake in the Jabi district of Abuja.
It is a place where residents convene as early as 5am in the morning to exercise. I visited the park last week and it was so refreshing to join the vibrant community of runners around the vast park.
Open air aerobics classes were also being held at different locations around the park with music filling the atmosphere. Table tennis and badminton players were also seen playing around the park as well as children roller skating.
After your exercise routine, you can indulge in freshly made smoothies, juice, Moi Moi (Beans cake) and other healthy alternatives. I particularly enjoyed the Zobo and Ginger juice!
You can also buy exercise attire and trainers from the pop up stalls around the park. By day, the park is a relaxing spot for picnics, walks, speed boat rides, horse rides, canoe rides and general relaxation.
So if you are in Abuja or visiting the capital soon, be sure to stop by at Jabi park. Enjoy the pictures below and be sure to subscribe to WeekenderHQ today to get weekly travel and lifestlye tips sent directly to your inbox.
