Weekend in Alicante, Spain – Arrival!
Alicante in Spain is only 2:30mins flight from London, UK which makes it a great destination for a Weekender trip!
You can leave on Friday morning or after work on Friday and arrive there in no time. Here is my weekender experience!
My plan was to hit the ground running but my flight was delayed for about 1 hr 30 minutes.
The flight was completely full and on arrival to the airport at least 3/4 of the flight were heading to the resorts!
Benidorm being very popular with water parks, theme parks etc. It is about 60mins by road from Alicante Airport. Today it is known for its hotel industry, beaches and skyscrapers, built as a result of its tourist-orientated economy. So it is indeed a place to visit when in Alicante! I hadn’t made up my mind on whether to spend a day there, maybe Sunday?
I planned to take Line C-6 to my hotel in Downtown Alicante (near the city centre), the Bus stop is located outside Departure Area at Alicante Airport but as my flight was delayed, I missed the last bus and had to take a Taxi.
It cost me about 20 Euros for the 15 minutes ride. The C6 city shuttle which would have cost me about 3 Euro’s and taken about 40 minutes.
I got to the hotel safe and sound and went straight to bed! Nothing like a good sleep for a big weekend ahead!
